Whitley Lane

With a sensitive green belt site located in the historic hamlet of Whitley, Project Orange was approached with an unusual brief for an accessible replacement dwelling that would meet the present and future needs of the clients and their disabled daughter. The proposals were developed to enhance the local environment, using traditional building materials though providing a contemporary and complimentary aesthetic. Repositioning the access point allowed for level access from the point of arrival, with the majority of the internal spaces located on a single level surrounding a secure courtyard garden. The home has been carefully designed to facilitate simple reconfiguration should a greater degree of autonomy be possible for the client’s daughter in future.
