The Park Bangalore
Bangalore, India
Sector
Opened in 2001 the Park represented a new direction for design-led hotels in India, showcasing local materials, colours and textures in a contemporary light. Over the past 15 years there has been an explosion of hospitality provision in the city as the population has risen to 8.5 million. What has not changed is the primary location of the property along MG road, if anything it has made it more desirable.
The design concept for the new rooms is a response to the increasingly chaotic and pressurised world we live in. While the city is known as a global IT hub, it was also famous as the 'garden city' of India. The re-design of the guest experience focuses on offering an oasis in the city, a place for rejuvenation and wellness, somewhere to relax and leave refreshed as well as inspired.
The rooms have been configured to maximise the sense of space. The entrance corridor now flows into the bedroom. The teak furniture appears to float off the walls and there is a sense of lightness and grace. The television is purposefully concealed behind an elegant wooden frame, so as to allow the guest a sense of true escape. At the window three shades of blue silk create a skyline, and these hues are picked up in the soft furnishing. An accent of coral pink lifts the room, like a sun rising in the morning. The micro-spa bathroom is bright and clean, with a generous walk-in shower and a full length wash stand.
We invite guests to re-connect with the Park Hotels, to experience the sense of place we have created and to leave telling compelling stories of their stay.
