We are refurbishing this unusual 1880 seaside house, built for William Herbert Peto, the brother of Harold Peto. It was originally known as Waterside and was awarded the Home of the Year Prize in 1882. The building is a fine example of the Queen Anne architectural style and has featured in Mark Girouard’s book Sweetness and Light: The Queen Anne Movement 1860-1900. The plan is to upgrade the accommodation and add a new dining pavilion at the rear.
