The newest addition to the Room2 brand is Room2 in Southampton.
Formerly an office building, dating from the 1990's, Project Orange was appointed to develop and adapt the established concept and bedroom design to suit the existing building fabric, while still retaining the essence of the Room2 brand.
Taking advantage of the large floor to ceiling heights, the dominant bedroom type features a mezzanine deck offering flexible guest accommodation. The deck and interior features are not dissimilar to those found on board traditional cruise liners, a nod towards the importance of Southampton in cross-Atlantic travel.
The public areas also draw on this theme, creating a flexible ground floor, offering space to work, to meet and to relax.
Taking some hints from the bold, graphic colouring of the Cunard liner, the existing brickwork has been painted black, bright red highlights to the corner entrance and a brilliant white screen envelops the roof.
