Project Orange Studio

Work
This new-build shell space was purchased by Project Orange in August 2011and the fit-out designed as an urban sanctuary studio/office. The concept is a collage of some favourite fragments from recent projects and aims to challenge the sterility of the standard office. The light fittings were first designed for Orange Cottage, while the joinery owes much to our hotel work. The carpet runner was to a design based on a photograph taken in Girona, Spain, of a particularly lovely ecclesiastical building nestled within the historic urban fabric. It was woven for us by Brintons. The industrial concrete floor was installed along with underfloor heating and reflects the concrete ceiling, left 'as found'.
The studio is an expression of how we work and see the world, a collection of objects, memories and forms curated to form a hybrid space, layered with meaning.
