On purchasing this property, the client's intention was to divide the space, a very generous 2 bed, 1 bath apartment, back into two units as originally constructed.

The twin apartments are located within the Bankside Lofts development adjacent to the Tate Modern and orientated to overlook the river Thames. With dual aspect, loft style interiors and double height volumes, the large expanses of glazing to the front elevation take in stunning views of the city whilst bedrooms occupy a mezzanine with balconies to the rear.

The brief required us to maximise the floor area whilst retaining the double height space to the front of the apartment and was achieved by extending the mezzanines and constructing new staircases to suit the reconfigured layouts. The master bedroom is located to the front of the mezzanine with a sliding folding screen allowing the bedroom to be closed off for privacy when required or open to the view.
