The project involves the remodelling, refurbishment and extensions to the group of buildings that comprise an historic Essex farm. The objective is to create a new homestead that will be both a family home and a working base. The original main farmhouse is Grade II listed and all the non original are removed to reinvigorate the complex of buildings by liberating the main building from unattractive 20th century additions. This is then linked to a renovated block to the north, creating a functional and beautiful modern home. All the buildings will be sustainably upgraded using a fabric-first approach. Project Orange are collaborating with Janey Auchincloss on creating a formal wild garden.
