During the final year of his master’s degree, Tom developed a hemp-based cladding system that investigated how locally grown and manufactured materials could support more sustainable construction practices. This research was integrated into his final design project: a community-led housing scheme in Camden. The proposal explored how a large-scale residential development could regenerate a barren brownfield site while positively contributing to the surrounding urban context. In recognition of the project, Tom received a commendation from RIBA Wessex.
