Matthew Girling, Architect

Matthew joined Project Orange in 2021 and is working on a variety of new build housing projects, mainly in Suffolk. Prior to this, Matthew completed a new-build home for his parents. He since worked for small-medium sized design-focused architectural practices, including Studio Mcleod, Jeff Kahane Associates and Barbara Weiss Architects across various sectors, including multi-residential, domestic/private residential, and healthcare.
Matthew is a graduate of the University of Kent. He was awarded the Hays Prize for written work and RIBA Kent Prize for design and was nominated for the RIBA President Silver Medal and RIBA Dissertation Medal for his thesis, which explored the dichotomy between logic and intuition in architecture. Matthew completed his Part III qualification by undertaking the RIBA’s Advanced Diploma in Professional Practice in Architecture and is registered with the Architects Registration Board.
Outside work, Matthew enjoys designing and building plywood furniture, cycling, bouldering and chess.
