Project Orange has completed the commission to reinvent the venerable Swan Hotel in Southwold, Suffolk for Adnams plc.
The Swan Hotel has occupied its current site in the renowned Suffolk coastal town since the 17th Century. Ale has also been brewed on site for over 650 years and is now the heart of Adnams coastal campus brewery and distillery. The brief was to recreate The Swan as the jewel in the Adnams crown, as the gateway to the brewery complex and as a premium coastal hotel with a vibrant food and drink offer. The Adnams brand and core values are to be at the heart of the new proposals.
Project Orange is acting as both architect and interior designer for the scheme. Alterations and extensions to the listed buildings and fresh new interiors celebrate Adnams and the history of the site, promising a revitalized hotel centred on a reimagined brewery yard and hop garden.
The Swan reopened in October 2017.
The Swan hotel made it’s way onto the Times top ten British Hotels 2017 referring to the top-class revamp that is a marvellous restoration of a classy old boozer/hotel.
