Moika Apartments

102 Moika is a prestigious new apartment building to be built on the banks of the Moika canal in the historic heart of St Petersburg. Project Orange has been commissioned to design the interiors of the building and its associated sales office.

The architectural details are graphic and elegant, expressing classical profiles in black white and gold, stone lacquer and brass. Dark lustrous plaster contrasts with raw silk wall coverings and feature doors are enriched with mirrored reveals and brasswork screens, designed as an abstraction of the regency key motif.

The lobby is flooded with light and washed through with delicate colour, mixing whites and creams with soft grey and amethyst shades. The colours are reflected in a polished jet black floor into which is set a concentric pattern that finds its echo in a gold lined circular coffer. The furnishings are chosen for their decorative qualities and witty interpretations of traditional designs ranging from the studiously literal to the abstract.
