triangle casino, bristol
The design for the new Triangle Casino in Bristol was devised as a stylish and sophisticated club. The ambience is a combination of exotic Asian influences found in the silk wall fabrics and red lacquer work with more traditional brass and leatherwork. Situated in the cosmopolitan South Triangle area of Clifton the casino has been inserted into the first floor of a small new regeneration project which also features a restaurant, a florist and new offices.
The entrance is announced by a bespoke pair of polished brass doors which open into the square reception room. The customer then ascends to the main gaming floor. This leads to the bar and restaurant on one side and through to the Library leading into the main gaming room. The restaurant occupies a pair of rooms within the original building and is lined on three sides wih a bright red leather banquette with dark timber tables. The bar has a polished brass top and a rolled black leather front, while the back bar is made up of black lacquer work.
The main gaming room is articulated by a series of five barrel vaulted coffers, decorated in gold leaf. The walls are panelled in specially designed walnut and brass screens which add a layer of detail to the room. There are four roulette tables and four card tables each with their own croupier. To one end is the cash room, while at the other one descends to the high roller gaming room completely clad in dark bronze silk panels.
