moscow apartment, russia
Project Orange were appointed to undertake the full fit-out of a large duplex apartment located in a quiet and prosperous neighbourhood of Moscow. Set within a new-build development, the apartment was formally two separate properties, empty shells without any internal partitions, which we have combined to create the current duplex configuration connected by a graceful timber staircase.
The interior fit-out is a characterised by the use of geometric marble floors, streamlined solid oak mouldings and contemporary panelling. The entrance hall, where the serenity of the scheme is at its most refined, has a black and white polished marble floor with walls lined in profiled oak panels, with a white oil wash to lighten the overall finish. Here doors and architraves are also oak and stained in black to mirror the deep black marble reveals to openings between the entrance hall and adjoining spaces.
The modern kitchen can be opened up to the family room and dining area, while a separate study and snug provide more private escape space. On the upper floor is a master suite, two bedroom and bathrooms as well as a steam room. Project Orange have designed much of the furniture and specified the rest thus curating the whole apartment to become an sophisticated but friendly family home.
