Directors Christopher Ash and James Soane studied together at Cambridge and set up practice in 1997 having both worked in senior positions at significant London firms. In 2003 Blackdog Publishing published 'Catalogue', a comprehensive book on our projects to date, and in 2009 'Catalogue 3' was launched at the Whitechapel Art Gallery.

So far our work has taken us around the world from Belfast to Bangalore, Mumbai to Melbourne and St Petersburg to Switzerland. This global perspective allows us to observe and learn about new cultures, innovative practices and alternative traditions.
